An explorer and former student of The Academy of Arcane Arts who left because he didn’t like academia. He’s interested in higher beings and ancient history.
Lucian explored the Great Ravine in Caelwyrm and found the Golden Chalice in an excavated temple. He hired Vonet (orc) and Dilly (human) to escort him to the Academy to sell it through the Academy’s magical item buyback program, but they double-crossed him outside Thornvale, stole the chalice, and fled north.
The party tracked down the thieves and recovered the chalice. Lucian is now traveling with the party to the Acropolis, where he hopes to sell the chalice and split the payment with the group.
Notes
- Asha suspects he is understating how valuable the chalice actually is (insight check)
- Úlfr intimidated him when Lucian questioned whether Úlfr was really a fighter: “I said I don’t like to fight. Doesn’t mean I’m not a fighter.”
Session 12 (September 23, 2026)
- The WitchCrafters’ best match for the Golden Chalice’s history is a white-dragon-worshipping clan’s ritual object, fought over by rival clans in the Great Ravine — where Lucian found it. See Caelwyrm.
- At the inn, the party wondered whether Lucian set them up so he could watch how the chalice is used. (Speculation only.)
