Seed is the only WitchCrafter who studies living things — botany and horticulture — in a guild otherwise built entirely around making objects. She keeps the guild’s courtyard garden in Pentamarone, and describes herself, cheerfully, as the odd one out.

Background

She came from a line of druids in a forest up north. She left after “some bad things happened in the forest” — and stopped there.

“I’d rather not. I really…”

She didn’t expect to fit in anywhere, least of all a guild of crafters, since her work isn’t a craft in the usual sense. Madame Verre carved out a spot for her anyway — one of several stories the party heard that night in which Verre’s interest in an unusual person amounted to a rescue.

(A druidic bloodline, a forest up north, and something that happened there she won’t name — worth watching alongside the White Forest coven and Yssa.)

Session 11 (September 9, 2026)

Assigned, with Ceramia, to the hardest question the Golden Chalice poses: the living copies. What are they made of, are they truly alive, and what functions or powers them if they are. Their test subjects are the cats Aren conjured in Session 10, which are still in the guild hall.

Drolta worked with them through the montage, on Investigation.

Seed joined the guild’s night out at a Pentamarone dive bar with Edel, Schmietta, and Marka, where the party’s two plant enthusiasts found each other: Úlfr pointed at Leif — “this big green guy here likes plants too. We thought he was a druid for a while, but I guess not.”

Session 12 (September 23, 2026)

  • Asked Asha about the copy of the woman from the library. Asha confirmed it was her mother. Asha explained her own expulsion (magic she “shouldn’t have been doing,” and going into the White Forest); her mother went missing after that, and Asha believes she is in the White Forest. The guild offered supplies for the forest.
  • Her team’s findings (living copies, with Ceramia and Drolta) went into the report on the Golden Chalice: hollow, bloodless, emotionless husks that evaporate when destroyed. The cats were put down. To Asha, directly: the copy is not your mother, has no connection to your mother, and feels nothing.
