Edel is the WitchCrafters’ gemcutter and stone-worker — the guild’s expert on jewels, ornament, and magic stones. Of all the masters, she is the one who took the most straightforward road to the guild.

Background
Gems and magic stones fascinated her early. She came from a comfortable background with good teachers, studied whatever she wanted, got very good at it, and Madame Verre found her. She has worked for the guild ever since — the only master whose story contains no war, no curse, and nothing she’d rather not discuss.
Session 11 (September 9, 2026)
Assigned to the materials team with Schmietta: determine what the Golden Chalice is physically made of — the metal, the jewels set into it — and whether either can be dated to a particular era or place in Astrodia. Of the four lines of inquiry Madame Verre opened, hers is the one most likely to tell the party where the chalice actually came from.
She joined the guild’s night out at a Pentamarone dive bar with Seed, Schmietta, and Marka, and was the one who explained the fireworks festival to the party: every guild in the city competes, no limits on materials or spells, and the winner runs the city. The WitchCrafters have won every year since its inception.
“Is that due to your magic, or to actual effort?”
“Magic is effort, as I’m sure you know.”
Session 12 (September 23, 2026)
Her team’s findings (materials, with Schmietta and Úlfr) opened the guild’s report on the Golden Chalice: indestructible, pure gold that is too pure — no imperfections at all — and age undeterminable, new or prehistoric. The dating she was assigned came back empty: the chalice shows no wear to date. Its likely origin came from the records team instead (see Caelwyrm).
