Earth is the Agent of Mysteries, one of the nine canonical Agents of the Solemn Pantheon. She is depicted as a young woman with wings; her faith embraces the great mysteries of the world — including the open question of which being is the right one to devote one’s life to. Her temples welcome worshippers of any higher power.
The Temple in Lathen
The small town of Lathen has a temple dedicated to Earth on its eastern side, marked by a winged statue over the door (Aren recognized her on sight). Its priest was warm and open, inviting the outsiders of The Fallen to pray to whatever power they served, since his goddess “is also open and accepting of the great mysteries of the world.”
In Session 7, this priest delivered the party’s fullest account yet of the cosmology:
- The Solemn Pantheon and the nine canonical Agents (some argue ten).
- The disputed tenth, The Moon, protector of the Agents — and his suggestion that she may be reaching out to Red.
- Venus and the meaning of her three orbs.
- The Dark Lords — fallen angels who rebelled against the Pantheon.
He knew nothing of the White Forest beyond its curse, which he believed (on faith) was stopped by divine intervention.
