A glass sphere that is an enchanted prison, holding an unknown living creature within. Recovered from the Lost Library of Leith Chantos and carried by the party.
Properties
- Enchanted prison — a glass sphere imprisoning whatever lives inside it.
- 1 HP — it breaks if dropped or thrown, freeing the creature within.
- Cannot be identified — the thing inside is alive, not a magic object, so Identify reveals nothing about it.
- Communicates — it tries to speak in a language no one understood. Once Asha used Comprehend Languages, it was understood to be asking to be let out.
A Dangerous Connection
The creature’s language matches the voices that Leif secretly hears — the same tongue heard after he meditated in the Purodetapo Forest, within the path of the Great Cataclysm. This ties the orb’s prisoner directly to the mystery of The Fourth Magic and Leif’s patron, named in Session 7 as The Whispering One. The orb creature is the clearest physical link to whatever reached out to Leif.
Drolta determined the orb creature and the sentient greataxe (Leith Chantos’s Legacy) are different entities despite both communicating through emotion.
Current Status
Identified in Session 6 (May 31, 2026) and still carried — carefully — by the party. The creature remains imprisoned; the glass prison’s 1 HP makes it fragile cargo.
