The brains of the S.A.T.O. and the most advanced mage in the group — an old friend from Asha’s Academy cohort. Where Myrna Nor organizes the Satyrs, Simone is their researcher and theoretician; the group’s central discovery about the fourth magic is her work.

The one the party hadn’t met. Of all the Satyrs, Simone is the only member the party had never spoken to before Lathen. They had merely glimpsed her studying in the Biblioplex on their first day at the Academy; the formal introduction came in the safehouse.

Role in the S.A.T.O.

Simone supplies the magical theory and the evidence behind the group’s mission. She frames the questions the Satyrs are trying to answer — why the White Forest research was forbidden, and what the Academy is actually running on — and built the tool that turned suspicion into something demonstrable.

The Map of Magic

Simone authored the group’s great discovery: an enchanted-sand map of Astrodia that visualizes the types of magic flowing across the world. Pouring colored sand onto the map revealed four currents:

  • White — arcane magic, spread uniformly everywhere, yet oddly does not spike at the Academy despite the Snarl and the Biblioplex.
  • Red — higher-being magic, concentrated where expected (Southern Kingdoms, Oceanic Alliance, Fire King Islands, War Rock Mountains) — but again nothing at the Academy, strange for a school reputedly founded by Dragons and giants.
  • Yellow — divine magic of the Solemn Pantheon, with a huge spike in the White Forest and a tiny new speck at the Academy that the party recognized as the Golden Chalice they’d brought back.
  • Green — the fourth magic, newer than arcane, tracing a line that matches the path of the Great Cataclysm and secretly powering every major civilization — and no one is talking about it.

She also exposed Leif’s hidden warlock nature: the green sand crawled toward him, and she proved the point by commanding him to cast Eldritch Blast, which worked.

Hypothesis

Simone believes arcane magic may not be native to Astrodia. Before the Severance, there are no records of mortal wizards casting spells — all magic flowed from divine or higher sources. Only after the Severance could mortals suddenly harness arcane magic on their own. See The Academy of Arcane Arts for the related “what powers the Academy?” mystery.

Session 10 — Still Nothing, and a Question Waiting for Her

Simone’s standing task — tracing who donated the star-tablet Asha translated — failed its roll again (August 26, 2026). No word from her. It has yet to succeed once, which the party is beginning to notice; per the Satyr Roll rules, some assignments are secretly impossible.

Meanwhile the party has a question for her that only her map can answer. On the map of magic, the tiny yellow (divine) speck at the Academy was assumed to be the Golden Chalice the party had just delivered. Now that they have carried the chalice hundreds of miles north:

Did the yellow speck move with them — or is it still sitting at the Academy?

If it moved, Simone’s map is effectively a tracking device pointed at the party. If it didn’t, the yellow was never the chalice, and something else divine and newly-arrived is sitting inside the Academy. Neither answer is comfortable, and the question had not yet been sent as of the end of Session 10.

Session 11 — Still Nothing (September 9, 2026)

Two more days of Satyr rolls in Pentamarone, two more failures. Simone’s star-tablet assignment — who donated it to the Biblioplex — has now never once succeeded. Per the Satyr Roll rules, some assignments are secretly impossible, and the party has started saying so out loud.

The question about the yellow speck on her map — did the divine dot move north with the Golden Chalice, or is it still sitting at the Academy? — still has not been sent. Tobin has absorbed both of the party’s available Satyr slots (the Oracle, and before that the repo man), and the party discussed and deliberately declined to tell Myrna and Archibald where they are: if anyone comes hunting and the S.A.T.O. can’t hold out, the party’s location goes with them.

Session 12 — Someone Else Knows the Spell (September 23, 2026)

Her star-tablet assignment was kept as ongoing in the party’s new round of Satyr tasks. No result yet.

More surprising: when Genni of the WitchCrafters proposed adapting Simone’s sand-map spell to track the other Sinful Spoils and offered to contact her through the party, Madame Verre said it wasn’t necessary. “I know the spell.” How she knows it wasn’t explained. Verre also confirmed that the Great Cataclysm began in the northern mountains of the Endymion Empire and travelled southeast, which matches the green line on Simone’s map.
